Support and service delivery to build regional capacity
A key focus at the Centre for Participation is sharing our knowledge, services and resources with others that can benefit.
To make this happen, we actively seek to extend the services we offer throughout the Wimmera, Southern Mallee and Northern Grampians regions. Through our community outreach program, we look for ways to increase access to our services and find the resources required to build community capacity.
Partnerships with other community organisations are instrumental in helping grow our community outreach program. Strong working relationships with organisations like Link Neighbourhood House, Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital, and West Wimmera Shire help us make an impact where we have no physical Centre for Participation office.
We’ve received state government funding for our community transport initiative, which will help people stay connected with their community and communities in the Wimmera. As part of the pilot, the first route from Kaniva to Horsham began in late October 2016, with another two routes launching by the end of March 2018.
Participation in social support activities and other programs such as Licencing the Wimmera also continues to increase.
