Cook Mentor – Meaningful Role in Community Food & Inclusion

Make meals. Mentor people. Make a difference.

Are you a qualified cook with a flair for mentoring and a passion for community? We’re looking for a Cook Mentor to join our social enterprise kitchen, preparing fresh meals for our Meals on Wheels program and guiding young people with additional needs.

In this unique role, you’ll do more than just cook—you’ll play a vital part in empowering individuals who face barriers to employment across the Wimmera. You’ll provide real-world skills, encouragement, and leadership in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Preparing and presenting delicious, nourishing meals

  • Leading food preparation and kitchen operations

  • Mentoring young participants with empathy and purpose

  • Managing ingredients, stock levels, and supplier orders

  • Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in food preparation and kitchen leadership

  • A genuine passion for inclusion, mentoring, and social impact

  • Strong communication, patience, and a calm, positive attitude

  • A current food handling certificate (essential)

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (desirable)

Centre for Participation’s MyCareCrew Home Help is looking for a hands-on, community-minded Gardening Mentor to join our growing social enterprise team. We provide lawn, garden, and greenspace maintenance services to older people and those living with disability—while mentoring individuals with disability to develop job-ready skills and confidence.

Whether you’re seeking part-time or full-time hours, we’re open to discussing what works for you (22.8 to 38 hours per week).

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Mentoring and supporting people with disability in gardening and maintenance tasks

  • Helping clients maintain safe, accessible, and beautiful outdoor spaces
