Yesterday the Centre for Participation was proud to be represented at Parliament House for the Parliamentary Friends of Meals on Wheels gathering.
Our CEO, Robbie Millar, attended alongside sector leaders and parliamentarians to highlight the important role Meals on Wheels plays in supporting older Australians.
Across Australia, Meals on Wheels supports more than 200,000 older Australians through over 590 place-based services, powered by volunteers embedded in their local communities.
These national conversations are grounded in the work happening in communities like Horsham and across the Wimmera, where volunteers and services help people remain connected, supported and independent in their homes.
It’s more than just a meal, it’s a friendly knock at the door, a moment of connection, and an important wellbeing check that helps people remain safe and independent.
Thank you to the volunteers and local services who make this work possible every day.
Thanks also to those supporting this work across the sector and Parliament, including Meals on Wheels Australia Dementia Australia @NationalSeniorsAustralia @DietitiansAustralia
